Psychosocial Aspects of Health Behaviour
The course provides students with an insight into the key psychological principles that underly health behaviour and physical activity involvement. You will gain an understanding of the psychosocial factors which influence participation in physical activity and the context of the overall health of individuals and communities. These include the relationship between physical activity and psychological wellbeing.
In this course psychological principles are applied to the adoption and maintenance of physical activity in a variety of community groups and the psychosocial influences upon healthy behaviours are critically explored.
